RIXC Center for New Media Art offers a unique experience for 25 participants (under the age of 30) who are eager to develop new ideas to participate in an international Media Literacy and Digital Awareness arthathon online on Zoom on March 15, 2023 from 10:00 to 14:00 CET (11:00-15:00 Latvia time) which is organized by MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan and to win a 1200 EUR cash prize! Arthathon is a short, intensive, workshop, keynote lecture and discussion program for youths to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time.

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in Zoom workshops and thematic lectures on Media literacy and digital awareness and to discuss and generate ideas on one of the 6 sub-themes:
Fake news & deep fakes
Data surveillance & use of data
Psychological impact of social media
AI, human-robot relationship & chat bots
Digital economy & blockchain
In six groups, led by facilitators, artists and experts, we will invite you to share your thoughts on one of the six sub-themes with participants from Milan, Berlin, Riga, Barcelona and Gdansk!

11:00 Inspirational workshop on data visualization – 1h
12:00 Co-creation session, working in groups – 2h
14:00 Inspirational talk on the AI and its role in the media contents production – 30 min
14:30 Presentation of the groups’ outcomes – 30 min
Participating in this and the other 4 Artathons will give you the chance to present your idea at the final AugE 2nd event in April 2024 and win a 1200 EUR cash prize!

The arthathon is a part of AUGE Second project which is co-created by MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan, Public Art Lab in Berlin, Public Art Lab in Berlin, Espronceda in Barcelona, Laznia in Gdansk and RIXC Center for New Media Art in Riga. 5 arthathons will be held in each respective country on-site and online. They will each focus on a specific topic such as media literacy and digital awareness (MEET), gender diversity and inclusion (Espronceda), climate change and space colonization (Public Art Lab), blockchain and future economies (RIXC) and democracy and public health (Laznia)!
