This year the annual RIXC Art and Science festival and the related exhibition explored the issues of global control and censorship – surveilance technology, military and media techniques. International participants presented their research in a 3 day conference, exhibition, and two performance events. Festival was curated by Liepaja University professor Rasa Smite, and Raitis Smits.
Exhibition "Global control and censorship", organised in collaboration with ZKM centre for art and media and Goethe Institut Riga, is open until 21st of October in the National library of Latvia. Work by Latvian media artist Peters Riekstins, Liepaja University alumni, is also included in the international exhibition.
