Liepaja University New media art graduates nominated for the annual Liepaja Visual arts prize

Liepaja University New media art graduates fight for the annual Liepaja Visual art prize on the opening of Liepaja Visual art exhibition. This time the theme of the exhibition is "On the way".

Liepaja University BA graduate Ieva Vīksne will present her neuro-data-driven interface for VR whih allows the spectator to explore the depths of both the underwater and their conscios/subconsciousness. BA graduate Līga Vēliņa will exhibit her big demographic data visualisations, MA graduate Milda Ziemane will allow the visitor to immerse in her multichannel sound piece. But Anna Priedola – head of Liepaja University Art research laboratory – will present the results of her art as reseach project "Face Sustainability". The piece is an archive of DIY sustainable design pieces, developed by Latvian seniors / people with physical disabilities who are forced to make their living out of limited recources.

Jury of acclaimed Latvian artists will decide which of the artists in Liepaja will recieve 1000 euro prize from Liepaja Municipality Culture department.
