Students, researchers and teaching staff, as well as guests of Liepaja University Faculty of Humanitarian Sciences and Arts gathered during the annual Creative Kurmaja events to explore the various creative outputs of each others work on 27th of March.

Day began with the student conference in the main building of Liepaja University. Theses in design, creative writing, European studies, Baltic Philology and New Media arts were presented while the faculty building – Kurmaja – was prepared for the creative night. Traditionally, it is organised by students of Creative writing Masters programme, and this year also Acting and New Media Art students joined the programme.

Evening programme started upstairs when the exhibition "Face Sustainability" by Anna Priedola – researcher in Art Research Lab of Liepaja University – was opened. Visitors could explore stories and designs of real-life sustainability experts – Latvian seniors who have lived long lives with very limited resources available.

The Creative Readings were opened with an etude by Acting students where visitors could meet and interact with a Writer. The readings by Creative writing students were celebrated with laughter and thoughtful sighs. The visual background was set by Art Research Lab art techician Peters Riekstiņš, and student Sandija Martinsone played music together with her stage partner Dzintars Vītols. New Media art students' shorts were also played, one of them – the ironic "What is art?" by Kristīne Brīniņa and Kaspars Jaudzems.
