Workshop lead by one of the leading curators in the field of VR/AR/MR will lead a workshop at Art Research Laboratory (MPLab) Liepaja:
VR/AR/MR - Hype, Structure and the Im/Possible
This lecture/concept workshop starts with an in-depth drill down into the use and abuse of AR (augment reality) VR (virtual reality) and MR (mixed reality). We will examine the difference of cinema and game culture, and the expected outcomes of live and social VR/AR, audiovisual spatiality and Immersion, input devices and sensors, UI (user interface) UX (user experience design) and liveness and social interaction. We will then look at a number of cutting edge VR/AR immersive examples, resulting in a a team pitch developed in a rapid prototype style. The focus will be on understanding the relationship between the physical and the virtual, and what leads to a positive outcome.
