Lynn Cazabon will be a Visiting Lecturer in the New Media Program

American artist and U.S Fulbright Scholar Lynn Cazabon will be a Visiting Lecturer in the New Media Program for the spring 2015 semester. The Fulbright Program is a program of highly competitive, merit-based grants for international educational exchange for students, scholars, teachers, professionals, scientists and artists, founded by United States Senator J. William Fulbright in 1946. Under the Fulbright Program, competitively selected U.S. citizens may become eligible for scholarships to study, conduct research, or exercise their talents abroad.Cazabon’sartwork spans a diversity of media, including photography, web and mobile device apps, audio, video, and installation. Recent work focuses on intersections between nature, technology and people across a variety of subjects, including obsolete technology, unwanted plants (weeds), and orbital debris. Her work has been exhibited extensively nationally and internationally in museums and galleries for the past 20 years, is featured in a number of books and exhibition catalogs and is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Cazabon is an Associate Professor of Art at University of Maryland Baltimore County.
